Fitzgerald (Rose Kennedy) is born in the North End.

The daughter of John F. and Rosie (Hannon) Fitzgerald, Rose Kennedy is born at 4 Garden Court Street, grows up in the North End, then moves with her family to West Concord and Dorchester. When her father becomes mayor, she serves as hostess at many civic and political events. Stylish and a fervent Catholic, she marries Joseph Kennedy in 1914,* has nine children, and becomes the matriarch of the most successful political family in Boston. She dies at the age of 104 in Hyannis Port on January 22, 1995. After a funeral at St. Stephen’s Church on January 24, 1995, she is buried in Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline.
